We’re Select First Financial – an independent, BC-licensed general insurance brokerage helping businesses and individuals find coverage that actually fits.
Who we are
Select First Financial is a British Columbia-based general insurance brokerage. We work with individuals, small businesses, and organizations across BC to find the right insurance solutions for their needs – whether that’s protecting a business from cyber risk, covering a trip abroad, or something in between.
We’re independent, which means we’re not tied to any single insurer or required to hit quotas for any particular company. When we make a recommendation, it’s because we believe it’s the right fit for you.
What independent means for you
Insurance companies work for shareholders. Banks and tied agents work within a limited product shelf. An independent broker works for the client.
That means we can shop the market on your behalf, compare options across multiple insurers, and give you a straight answer about what you actually need – and what you don’t. We believe in plain language, clear explanations, and recommendations that make sense for your situation.
We currently offer two main lines of insurance
Cyber Insurance
Through our broker partnership with Coalition, one of North America’s leading cyber insurance providers. Alongside cyber insurance, we also offer Coalition’s managed security services, including MDR, MXDR, and Security Awareness Training.
Travel Insurance
Through BestQuote Travel Insurance, a division of Select First Financial. We are a proud Lloyd’s coverholder and offer the BestQuote MedEC policy, specifically designed for IEC visa holders, Super Visa applicants, and other visitors to Canada.
As business grows, we expect to add additional insurance lines to better serve our clients.
